Chilli Heat is a Pragmatic Play slot set at a Mexican fiesta, released in January 2018. It is played on five reels and three rows with 25 fixed paylines, and it has two bonuses: free spins that strip out the low-value symbols, and a money respin round with fixed jackpots. The maximum win is 2,512x. You can play the Chilli Heat demo for free at the top of this page.
This review covers the RTP figures reported, the medium volatility rating, the 2,512x maximum win in pounds and why a few sources say 1,000x, how the free spins and money respins work, and the stake limits. It sits with our Pragmatic Play slots hub, and it is a gentler slot than our Buffalo King review game.

Overview
Chilli Heat is a classic Pragmatic Play fiesta slot with stacked wilds, a choice of two bonuses and a medium volatility rating. One reviewer calls it a comfort slot and another says it is an incredibly fun slot that does not take itself too seriously. It is noticeably gentler than the high volatility Pragmatic Play slots that followed.
It is also an older, simpler design. One reviewer says the 8 free spins have no win multiplier, so big wins from that round are limited, and another says the 2,512x max win is modest by modern standards. The jackpots and the respins round are where the game earns its reputation.
How to play and stakes
The game is played on five reels and three rows with 25 fixed paylines, so you cannot adjust the lines. Stakes start at 0.25 and run to 125, according to four sources. One source lists a range of 0.25 to 5 in euros, which looks like a UK-style limit. Check the game information screen at your casino for the limit that applies.
One source says the wild appears stacked on the reels, and another says the stacked wilds help the free spins.
RTP and the versions you may meet
Most sources list the RTP at 96.5%, and one gives 96.52%. One listing shows 95.54%, which does not match the rest and may be a lower version. Operators can choose which version to run, so check the game information at your casino.
The RTP describes the long-run return across a very large number of spins and tells you little about a short session. One source notes that 96.5% is 0.5% above the market average.
Volatility
Every source that gives a rating says medium, with one noting that Pragmatic Play rates it 3 out of 5. That makes it gentler than most of the studio’s later slots, and one source describes it as offering small but frequent wins.
If you prefer steady play with a moderate ceiling, this is a better fit than the high volatility slots in the series. If you want a huge cap, look elsewhere.
Max win and what it is worth in pounds
Most sources give the maximum win as 2,512x the stake. Two sources instead give 1,000x, which is the value of the Grande jackpot, so there is some confusion over whether the cap includes other prizes. One source says the maximum would be worth $314,000 at the top stake of $125, which matches 2,512x.
In pounds, 2,512x is £628 on a 25p stake, £2,512 on a £1 stake and £12,560 on a £5 stake. That is simple multiplication, not a figure from the studio.
Free spins
Three or more scatters, which land on reels 2, 3 and 4, trigger 8 free spins, according to most sources. One source says 10 free spins, which does not match the rest. During the round the low-value royal symbols are removed, so only high-value symbols can land, and the round can be retriggered. Two sources say retriggers are unlimited, with 3 scatters adding another 8 spins.
One source notes that the Money Respin feature can also be triggered from the free spins round.
Money respins and jackpots
Landing 6 or more money symbols triggers the Money Respin feature. The money symbols lock in place and you receive 3 respins, and each new money symbol resets the count to 3. Filling all 15 positions awards the Grande jackpot of 1,000x, according to two sources. Another source gives the Major jackpot as 100x and the Mini as 30x.
We did not find a mention of a bonus buy. Availability can vary by casino and region, so check the game information screen.
Symbols and paytable
The game uses a Mexican fiesta theme with royal card symbols from A to J, money symbols, a sun scatter and a stacked wild. One source says the sun scatter must appear on reels 2, 3 and 4 together. We have not given paytable values, because the sources we checked do not publish them in a form we could verify. The paytable inside the game is the reliable source for symbol payouts at your stake.
Hit frequency and win rate
No hit frequency or max win probability is published in the sources we checked, and AboutSlots lists the max win probability as not available. We do not give any figures.
The demo above is the best way to feel how often the bonuses arrive, although a short session will not tell you the long-run rate.
Is Chilli Heat enjoyable? Our verdict
Chilli Heat is a good fit for players who want a simple, medium volatility slot with a jackpot ladder and two straightforward bonuses. The 96.5% RTP is above average, the free spins are easy to follow and the money respins are tense. The 2,512x cap is modest and the free spins have no multipliers, so it will not suit anyone chasing a huge win.
For a much higher ceiling, try our Buffalo King review. Gambling should be fun and 18+ only. Set limits before you play.

How we checked the figures
- RTP, volatility, max win, stakes and features: PokerNews, AskGamblers, AboutSlots, HoldWin-Slots, Gambling Zone, SlotsGamblers, Slotsia, Chipy, Slots Temple and Spingenie game pages, compared for conflicts and read on 5 October 2026.
- Jackpot values: AskGamblers and Slotsia. Release date: AboutSlots and HoldWin-Slots. Free spins count: PokerNews, AboutSlots and SlotsGamblers say 8, and Gambling Zone says 10. Sequels such as Chilli Heat Spicy Spins were not used for any figure.
- Where sources disagree we say so. The Pragmatic Play game page was not used for any figure, so none is confirmed with the studio.
- Maximum win in pounds is 2,512 multiplied by the stake.
