Company history
Playtech was founded in 1999 in Tartu, Estonia, by Teddy Sagi, and floated on the London Stock Exchange in March 2006. It is headquartered in Douglas on the Isle of Man.
Growth came through a run of acquisitions, including the bingo platform Virtue Fusion in 2010, YoYo Games in 2015, Quickspin in 2016 for €50 million and the Italian operator Snaitech in 2018 (a 70.6% stake for €291 million). Flutter completed the purchase of Snai from a Playtech subsidiary on 30 April 2025 for an enterprise value of €2.3 billion, which left Playtech as a predominantly pure-play business-to-business group.
