Big Bass Keeping it Reel Slot Review: 96.07% RTP, 10,000x Max Win and the Golden Wild Net

2 October 2026 · 9 min read

Big Bass Keeping it Reel arrived in October 2022 as another Reel Kingdom and Pragmatic Play entry in the fishing series. It keeps the money fish and fisherman wild collect, then adds a Golden Wild that empties a net of fish values that were not collected earlier.

The headline change is the cap. Pragmatic Play states a 10,000x maximum win, double the 5,000x seen in several sister games. This review separates what the provider publishes from what independent sites report, and it makes no claim that we have played the game.

How to play and stakes

The layout is the series standard: five reels, three rows and ten fixed paylines. Wins pay from the left, and three matching symbols make a combination. The wild and its collect powers only appear during free spins, which is why most of the game’s return sits in the bonus.

Third-party sources disagree on the global maximum bet, with figures from 50 to 250 depending on the site and currency. That does not affect UK players: the stake cap for online slots is £2 a spin for 18 to 24 year olds and £5 for those aged 25 and over, with 10p reported as the minimum. OLBG notes that autoplay and quick spin are only available to non-UK players.

RTP: which figure applies

The official page lists 96.07%. Bigwinboard reports two lower settings of 95.07% and 94.07%, while OLBG gives them as 95.05% and 94.07%, so the middle figure is inconsistent between sources. Treat both lower numbers as third-party reports, not provider facts.

UK casinos can run different RTP settings. The figure in the game’s information panel at your casino is the one that applies. Bigwinboard and Bonustiime both say 96.07% is unchanged when you use the ante bet or buy the bonus.

Volatility

The official page does not name a volatility level, but OLBG, Bigwinboard and Fruity Slots all call it high, and OLBG rates it 5 out of 5. High volatility here means the base game returns small amounts most of the time, with the cap reached through a long free spins chain.

Max win

Pragmatic Play states a 10,000x maximum win on the game page. Bigwinboard puts the odds of reaching it at 1 in 2,143,163 spins, which is a reported figure and not an official one. OLBG notes that this cap ties with a handful of other Big Bass games as the second largest in the series.

At UK stakes, 10,000x converts to the following:

Stake Max win at 10,000x
£0.10 (typical minimum) £1,000
£1 £10,000
£2 (18 to 24 limit) £20,000
£5 (over 25 limit) £50,000

The £2 and £5 rows only apply to players within each age band’s limit.

Free spins, wilds and the Golden Wild

Landing scatters starts free spins, with up to 20 spins awarded on a single spin according to the official page. During the round, fish carry cash values and a wild that lands alongside them collects the lot. Allslotsites lists possible fish values from 1x up to 1,000x, which is a single third-party list, so we treat the exact ladder as reported.

The twist is the Golden Wild. Fish values that land with no wild nearby are gathered into a net, and the Golden Wild collects the whole net as well as the fish in view. MrQ’s game guide describes it the same way.

Every fourth wild collected, ordinary or golden, retriggers the bonus. Each retrigger adds 10 free spins and lifts the multiplier on collected fish to 2x, then 3x, then 10x. In round numbers, that is up to 30 extra spins from three retriggers.

Ante bet and bonus buy

Bigwinboard and Bonustiime report an ante bet that adds 50% to each spin and puts extra scatters on the reels, plus a free spins buy at 100x the bet. Both sources say the RTP stays at 96.07% either way. Some UK-facing sites say the buy feature is not offered to UK players, and we could not confirm either way, so check the game’s information panel at your casino.

Symbols and paytable

The premium symbols are the fish shoal, tackle box, dragonfly, rod and reel, and the float. The float is the top symbol at 200x for five of a kind, which the provider and several sites agree on. The figures below come from Goodluckmate and the 200x top prize is confirmed elsewhere.

Symbol group Reported payout (x stake)
Card ranks 10 to A 0.2x to 10x
Fish 1x to 20x
Float (top symbol) Up to 200x for five of a kind

The wild substitutes for all symbols except the scatter and has no value of its own. We did not find a complete line by line paytable for the tackle box, dragonfly and rod and reel from a source we trust, so we do not list them.

Hit frequency and win rate

The provider does not publish a hit frequency. Two named sources agree on the same spin figure: Bigwinboard lists 1 in 8.77 and OLBG lists 11.4%, which is the same thing. Bigwinboard adds free spins about once in 117 spins. We quote these as reported, not official.

SlotPal’s guide to hit rates in Big Bass and Eye of Horus names this game and gives a 10,000x cap, but its probability of a 1,000x win is a modelled estimate, so we do not repeat it as fact.

How it compares with other Big Bass games

Compared with Big Bass Bonanza, which tops out at 2,100x, this game offers a much higher ceiling. Compared with Big Bass Splash, which also uses a four step multiplier of 1x, 2x, 3x and 10x, the main difference is the net and Golden Wild, not the multiplier ladder. For that reason players who like escalating multipliers will find the structure familiar.

Is it enjoyable? Our verdict

This section is based on mechanics, provider rules and independent data. We have not played the game.

The Golden Wild net adds a clear moment of anticipation, because stored fish stay in play until the golden symbol lands. That feature gives the bonus more shape than the original game. On the other hand, independent reviewers such as Bigwinboard and Fruity Slots describe it as a close relative of earlier entries, and reviewers who tracked their own sessions mention long gaps between bonuses.

Verdict: worth considering for high volatility players who want the 10,000x ceiling without a new core mechanic. If you prefer frequent small wins, it is a poor fit.

Cons

  • Third-party sources disagree on some figures such as bet range and the middle RTP
  • Mostly familiar mechanics for anyone who has played the series
