Big Bass Reel Repeat is Reel Kingdom’s retro sci-fi take on the Big Bass series, published by Pragmatic Play in August 2025. The fisherman is dressed for the 1980s, the boat looks suspiciously like a time machine, and the maths underneath is the familiar collect-the-fish bonus with a few extra layers.
This review sticks to what the provider publishes and what named independent sources report. Where the two disagree, or where a figure only appears on third-party sites, we say so. Nothing here is a recommendation to play for money, and we have not played the game ourselves.

How to play and stakes
The game uses a standard 5 by 3 grid with 10 fixed paylines. Wins pay left to right from the first reel, and three matching symbols on a line is the minimum for a payout. The base game is mostly a way of reaching the scatters, because the fisherman wild, which does the collecting, only appears in the free spins round.
Globally the bet range is reported as 10p to 250. UK players are subject to the stake limits for online slots: a maximum of £2 a spin for 18 to 24 year olds and £5 for those aged 25 and over. Autoplay and quick spin are also not available to UK players under the Gambling Commission rules that came in during 2021.
RTP: which figure applies
The official Pragmatic Play page lists a single RTP of 96.51%. Bigwinboard and NewCasinos both report two lower settings, 95.52% and 94.52%, which operators can choose in some markets. Those two lower figures are third-party reports: they are not on the provider page we read.
UK casinos can run different RTP settings, so the number in the game’s own information panel at your operator is the one that applies to you. Bigwinboard also says the 96.51% figure holds whether you play normally, use an ante bet or use a bonus buy.
Volatility
Every source we found rates the game as high volatility, though the official page does not use that label. In practice that means long runs of small or empty spins, with most of the return concentrated in the free spins round. One reviewer reported around 150 base spins between bonuses in their own sessions, which is a single anecdote and not a measured figure.
Max win
The official page does not state a maximum win. Bigwinboard, NewCasinos and several other reviewers give 5,000x the stake, so we use that figure and label it as third-party. Individual money symbols are reported to range from 2x up to 5,000x, which is why a single huge catch can in theory reach the cap. One source mentions money symbols of up to 2,000x; we treat that as an outlier and follow the 5,000x figure from the two sources that give detail.
Bigwinboard puts the odds of hitting the maximum at 1 in 4,728,133 spins. That is a reported figure, not an official one.
At UK stakes, 5,000x converts to the following:
| Stake | Max win at 5,000x |
|---|---|
| £0.10 (typical minimum) | £500 |
| £1 | £5,000 |
| £2 (18 to 24 limit) | £10,000 |
| £5 (over 25 limit) | £25,000 |
The £2 and £5 rows only apply to players within each age band’s limit.
Free spins, wilds and the reel modifiers
Three, four or five scatters in the base game award 10, 15 or 20 free spins. If only two scatters land, Bigwinboard says a respin or a random extra scatter can still bring the bonus in, and NewCasinos describes the two scatters becoming sticky and stepping down the grid. The two descriptions differ in detail, so treat the exact trigger mechanics as reported rather than confirmed.
Before the round starts you pick one of 12 mystery cards. According to the provider, the modifiers are extra money symbols, bigger retrigger multipliers of 4x, 6x and 20x, a version where only three wilds are needed to retrigger, and a Mega card that combines all of them. Some cards reveal nothing, which NewCasinos describes as a blank pick.
During the free spins each fisherman wild collects every money symbol in view. Wilds are also tallied, and every fourth one adds 10 free spins and moves the multiplier up: 2x for the first retrigger, 3x for the second and 10x for the third. That means up to 30 extra spins on top of the opening 10, 15 or 20.
The game also adds helper animations. If wilds land with no money symbols, symbols may be added. If money symbols are showing and no wild is, a hook can drag a wild in. Giant 2×2 or 3×3 money symbols can appear as well.
Ante bet and bonus buy
Bigwinboard and NewCasinos report three ante options that raise the cost of each spin: 1.5x the stake for better scatter odds, 1.6x for a chance of the Repeat, and 2.5x for both. Three bonus buys are also reported: 100x for standard free spins, 160x for free spins with a chance of the Repeat, and 1,250x for free spins with the Mega modifier guaranteed.
The Repeat is the headline feature, and it is the part of the game that can start the free spins again while keeping your winnings. Both sources say it is only reachable through the 1.6x or 2.5x ante or the 160x buy, not in normal spins. We could not confirm which of these options are offered to UK players at any particular casino, so check the game’s information panel.
Symbols and paytable
Pay symbols are the ten to ace card ranks, fish, lure boxes, ray guns, dragonflies and boats. Five of a kind pays the following, based on Bigwinboard’s figures, with the 200x top prize matching the provider page.
| Symbol | 5 of a kind (x stake) |
|---|---|
| Card ranks 10 to A | 5x to 10x |
| Fish | 20x |
| Lure box and ray gun | 50x |
| Dragonfly | 100x |
| Boat | 200x |
NewCasinos adds that the boat pays for two of a kind as well, and that fish symbols also carry the cash prizes that wilds collect in free spins. The wild has no value of its own and substitutes for pay symbols.
Hit frequency and win rate
Pragmatic Play does not publish a hit frequency for this game on its page. Bigwinboard lists a hit frequency of 1 in 7.70 spins, roughly 13% of spins, and a free spins frequency of 1 in 112. These are the only figures we found from a named source, so we quote them as Bigwinboard’s and not as official numbers.
SlotPal’s existing guide to hit rates in Big Bass and Eye of Horus does not cover this game. It does work from a baseline of about 13% and roughly 1 in 113 spins for the original Big Bass Bonanza, which is in the same range as the Bigwinboard figures here, though that comparison is a sense check and not a measurement.
How it compares with other Big Bass games
Bigwinboard and NewCasinos both point out that the modifier pick echoes Big Bass Splash and Bigger Bass Splash, with a single pick and fewer options here. Bigwinboard also notes that its listed odds of reaching the max win in those Splash games are better than the figure for Reel Repeat. If your main interest is a modifier-driven bonus, the Splash games are the obvious comparison; if you want a higher cap, other series entries go beyond 5,000x.
Is it enjoyable? Our verdict
This section is based on mechanics, provider rules and independent data. We have not played the game.
The theme is the most distinctive thing about it, and the free spins have more moving parts than the original Big Bass Bonanza: a card pick, a wild tally and escalating multipliers. The weak point, which several reviewers raise, is that the feature in the title sits behind an ante bet or a bonus buy. Independent ratings are middling: Bigwinboard gives 6 out of 10, NewCasinos 2.5 out of 5 and Fruity Slots 4 out of 10.
Verdict: a reasonable fit for people who already like the Big Bass bonus loop and want a different look. It is a harder sell for anyone expecting the Repeat to show up in normal play, and the 5,000x cap is modest for a high volatility game.
Pros and cons
Pros

- Wilds collect money symbols and escalate multipliers through retriggers

Cons
- The Repeat feature is reportedly only reachable through ante bets or the 160x buy
- Max win of 5,000x is low for a high volatility slot
- Only one card pick before the bonus
- Wilds do not appear in the base game, so base spins can feel empty
