Gates of Olympus 1000 Slot Review: 96.50% RTP, 15,000x Max Win and 1,000x Multiplier Orbs

2 October 2026 · 8 min read

Gates of Olympus 1000 is the December 2023 follow-up to Pragmatic Play’s pay anywhere Zeus slot. The grid, tumbles and free spins are the same as the original, but the multiplier orbs now reach 1,000x and the maximum win is reported at three times the original’s cap.

One caveat before the figures: we could not read the official Pragmatic Play page for this game, because it timed out on two attempts. Every number below therefore comes from named third-party sources, and we say where they disagree. We have not played the game.

How to play and stakes

The rules are those of the original: no paylines, and a win needs eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the 6 by 5 grid. Winning symbols vanish and new ones tumble down, and the sequence continues until no more wins land. Multiplier orbs can land at random, and at the end of a tumble sequence in the base game the orbs on screen are added together and applied to the win.

Third-party stake ranges differ. Sigma, Slotzone and Fruity Slots list a minimum of 0.20, while OLBG lists 10p. Maximums of 100 and 125 appear. In the UK the stake rules for online slots apply: £2 a spin for 18 to 24 year olds and £5 for those aged 25 and over. Autoplay and quick spin are not available to UK players.

RTP: which figure applies

Almost every source lists 96.50% as the standard RTP, matching the original game. Fruity Slots reports 95.51% and 94.50% as lower settings, and gatesolympus.net gives a range of 94.50% to 96.50%. One site, Casinokings, lists 94.00%, which we treat as an outlier. All of these are third-party reports. We did not read the provider’s own statement.

UK casinos can run different RTP settings, so the game’s information panel at your casino is the figure that applies. Betranksa, Fruity Slots and gatesolympus.net say the ante bet leaves the RTP at 96.50%, and that the bonus buy runs at 96.49%.

Volatility

OLBG, Casino.com and Betranksa rate the game very high, with Betranksa giving 5 out of 5. Sigma, Casinos.com and Fruity Slots say high. The labels differ but point the same way: wins are often small, and the big results come from stacked multipliers in free spins.

Max win

Sources agree on 15,000x the stake. OLBG puts the odds of reaching it at 1 in 2,749,771 spins and says a win of 1,000x or more arrives about once every 45,036 spins on average. Those are reported figures and not official. For comparison, gatesolympus.net gives the original’s max win odds as roughly 1 in 697,000, so the new cap is far harder to reach.

At UK stakes, 15,000x converts to the following, using the 20p minimum most sources report:

Stake Max win at 15,000x
£0.20 (reported minimum) £3,000
£1 £15,000
£2 (18 to 24 limit) £30,000
£5 (over 25 limit) £75,000

If your casino offers the 10p stake OLBG lists, the cap at that stake is £1,500. The £2 and £5 rows only apply to players within each age band’s limit.

Tumbles, multiplier orbs and free spins

Multiplier symbols can land in the base game and in free spins, with values from 2x up to 1,000x according to OLBG, Hashspins and Stake. Four or more Zeus scatters trigger 15 free spins, and three or more scatters during the round add 5 more spins. Sigma, Slotcatalog and Stake all describe the same retrigger.

During free spins the orb values are added to a running total that stays active for the whole round and is applied to wins. Scatters pay on their own too: 4 pay 3x, 5 pay 5x and 6 pay 100x, as listed by Stake and Rainbet.

Ante bet and bonus buy

Four sources describe the ante bet consistently: it raises the stake by 25% and doubles the chance of landing scatters. A buy for 100x the stake is also reported by Betranksa, Slotzone and Gatesolympus.net. Betranksa adds that the buy cannot be used while the ante bet is switched on. Availability of the buy to UK players differs by casino, so check the information panel.

Symbols and paytable

The paytable matches the original. These are the payouts for 12 or more of a kind from Stake and Slots Online Canada.

Symbol 12 or more (x stake)
Crown 50x
Hourglass 25x
Ring 15x
Chalice 12x
Gems 2x to 10x

Smaller clusters pay less: Stake lists the crown at 10x for 8 to 9 symbols and 25x for 10 to 11.

Hit frequency and win rate

The provider’s figure was not available to us. Casino.com and gatesolympus.net both list a hit frequency of 28.41%, while Slotzone says it is not disclosed by the provider. We therefore quote 28.41% as a reported third-party figure, not an official one. OLBG’s 45,036 spin figure for a 1,000x win is also reported rather than official.

SlotPal’s guide to hit rates in Big Bass and Eye of Horus does not cover this game, so there is nothing there to cross-check.

How it compares with the original

The original Gates of Olympus has orbs up to 500x and a 5,000x cap at about 1 in 718,000 spins, while this version has 1,000x orbs and a 15,000x cap at about 1 in 2.75 million. The free spins trigger, 15 spins and 5 spin retrigger are unchanged. The trade is clear: a higher ceiling that is much less likely to be reached.

Is it enjoyable? Our verdict

This section is based on mechanics, provider rules and independent data. We have not played the game.

The appeal is straightforward. It keeps the original’s simple pay anywhere format and adds a ceiling that makes the free spins feel higher stakes. The cost is that long dry stretches are expected, and one reviewer on Sigma noted that wins were less frequent than they would have liked. OLBG gives it 4.1 out of 5 and Fruity Slots 8 out of 10.

Verdict: a good fit for players who already like the original and want a bigger ceiling. A poor fit if you prefer steady returns, because the extra cap is paid for with lower odds of reaching it.
