Book of Dead is Play’n GO’s Egyptian adventure slot, released on 14 January 2016 and widely seen as the studio’s breakthrough title. It stars the explorer Rich Wilde, who is also the top symbol. Legacy of Dead followed on 2 January 2020 in the same Book of format, with one change: each retrigger adds another expanding symbol.

Core mechanics: Book of Dead has five reels, three rows and ten paylines, with wins paid left to right. Three or more Book symbols trigger 10 free spins. A random symbol is chosen before the spins begin, and when it lands and wins it expands to cover its reel and pays on all paylines. Three more Books during the round award another ten spins.

Key figures (our review): 96.21% RTP, very high volatility and a 5,000x maximum win. Legacy of Dead has 96.58% RTP and the same 5,000x cap.
