Company history

Pragmatic Play launched in 2015 in Gibraltar as a business-to-business supplier. In July 2016 IBID Group completed the purchase of its entire issued share capital. Through 2016 and 2017 the range widened from slots to jackpots, classic slots, scratchcards and table games, and in June 2017 it won the EGR B2B Software Rising Star award.

In 2018 it won an EGR award for slot innovation, announced a bingo product in February and acquired Extreme Live Gaming from Novomatic. In April 2019 its Bucharest live casino studio received a Romanian (ONJN) operating licence, with capacity for more than 43 tables. Bingo Blast launched in April 2020, and the Drops & Wins promotion launched in 2020 before a June 2021 relaunch with a €7 million prize pool, fully funded by Pragmatic Play.

The crash game Spaceman arrived in March 2022 and Big Bass Crash in October 2023. In October 2025 a live casino studio opened in Bogotá, Colombia, through ARRISE. In August 2026 the company stopped supplying US sweepstakes casinos. Awards in 2026 include the EGR B2B Awards on 3 June for casino software supplier and slot supplier over five years, and the SBC Awards on 1 October, where it was named Casino/Slots Developer of the Year (Large) for a third consecutive year and Live Casino Supplier.

Game history and notable releases

Wolf Gold, released in April 2017, was the breakthrough Hold & Spin title and won EGR awards. The Dog House followed in May 2019, and Sweet Bonanza in mid-2019 with its cluster-pays tumble mechanic. The Dog House Megaways arrived in August 2020, and Big Bass Bonanza in December 2020 through the partnership with Reel Kingdom.

Gates of Olympus launched on 25 February 2021 and Starlight Princess in September 2021. Big Bass Bonanza Megaways followed on 18 November 2021. In 2022 came Spaceman (March, the first crash game), Sugar Rush (June) and Big Bass Splash (June). The 1000 versions then began: Gates of Olympus 1000 on 14 December 2023, Sugar Rush 1000 in March 2024, Sweet Bonanza 1000 on 3 June 2024 and Big Bass Bonanza 1000 on 24 April 2025. Sweet Bonanza 2500 followed in April 2026 and Gates of Olympus 2500 on 28 September 2026.

Judged by operator and affiliate coverage rather than audited data, Sweet Bonanza and Gates of Olympus consistently sit near the top of UK operator leaderboards, and Big Bass Splash and Big Bass Bonanza are currently among the most prominent in UK lobbies.
